Weather permitting, Wednesday, June 2 through Wednesday, June 14, Nottingham Drive from US 380 to 500 feet to the south will have a temporary northbound lane closure and traffic control flaggers in place from 9 am to 3 pm daily. This temporary closure will allow crews to safely begin a phase of the intersection construction and will be intermittent while crews are present. Message boards and traffic control signage is now in place to notify community members and motorists of the upcoming construction and impacts to traffic. Access will be maintained for local residents and property owners throughout the temporary lane closures.

Beginning 9 a.m. Friday, April 23, crews will perform a traffic lane shift at the E. Sherman Drive and Loop 288 intersection, weather permitting. The traffic lane shift is expected to be complete by 3 pm of the same day. During the lane shift, traffic will remain open in each direction. Following the traffic shift, on Monday, April 26, crews will install traffic barriers at the E. Sherman and Loop 288 intersection to separate the construction work zone from traffic flow.

Signage will be in place to alert motorists of the crews, traffic lane shifts, and temporary detour routes in place. Delays and backups are possible so motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

For questions related to this traffic alert, or the 2019 Intersection Improvement project contact Construction Project Manager, Dustin Draper at Dustin.Draper@cityofdenton.com or call (940) 349-7104.
