As Denton has grown over the years, so has the congestion on Mayhill Road. The City has been working to expand Mayhill from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway to accommodate traffic. Once complete, Mayhill Road will be able to handle the continued growth in the area and serve as an alternate route to Loop 288.
Phase 2 (Colorado to North of Quail Creek) will include extending Mayhill Road from Colorado Boulevard to the existing 4-lane divided roadway and eliminate the at-grade crossing at DCTA/Edwards. This phase will also include the installation of a traffic signal at the Mayhill Road and Colorado Boulevard intersection, side paths and trails.
