Construction has concluded.

We are excited to announce major street improvements have been scheduled for the Oaks of Montecito.

This project includes the street reconstruction for segments of Palo Verde Dr and Glendora Ct as well as mill and overlay of segments of Buena Vista Dr, Vista Verde St, Val Verde Ct, Cordero Ct, Mira Vista Dr, Palo Verde Dr, Brisas Ct, and Montecito Dr.

  • Mill & Overlays - Mill and overlay is a form of pavement rehabilitation that involves the removal and replacement of the existing surface layer of asphalt to extend a roadway’s useful life. The existing asphalt is removed using a milling machine, and the application of new asphalt provides a restored driving surface.
  • Reconstruction – Reconstruction is used to restore both the driving surface as well as the base and subgrade layers beneath the surface. The process results in a new street and is typically used to treat roadways that demonstrate significant surface and subgrade failure.

Weather pending, work is scheduled to begin Spring of 2023

Staff is working with our Drainage department to get a street sweeper out to sweep the roads within the Oaks of Montecito at least once a week to clean up the loose gravel.

  • Share I signed up to join the virtual meeting, but was unable to attend. Is there a recording of it? Mostly, I just want to know some of the logistics: like will there be times I need to park elsewhere and walk to my car so that I can get to work if my street (Glendora Ct) will be shut down. Or do I need to do something different with my trash for trash collection. I am grateful to work with the city as they do their work. I just want to plan ahead if there is anything I need to do. I have not found those details, but I am confident that you will communicate those at least a bit in advance. Thanks! on Facebook Share I signed up to join the virtual meeting, but was unable to attend. Is there a recording of it? Yes, we will be reconstructing Glendora Ct. and we will communicate with door hangers at least 48 hours in advance of any construction being done.  You will maintain access to and from your house during construction and trash days we will coordinate on our end with solid waste to assure no interruption there.  The only way that you will not have access to your driveway is if we have to replace your approach, which you will only be inconvienced for 48 hours until the concrete has time to cure.  The public meeting recording has been uploaded so please feel free to watch that back which I beleive will cover every topic of concern for you.  If you have any more questions, comments, or concerns please reach back out.

    Thank you,
