Pecan Creek Tributary Drainage Improvement Project (PEC-4) Phases 1 and 2 will install approximately 1,500 linear feet of box culvert along the Pecan Creek Upper Tributary between Wainwright St. and Prairie St. The new box culvert will help reduce flooding in the downtown area during large storm events. This project also includes 6,000 linear feet of water improvements and 7,800 linear feet of wastewater improvements along Elm St. and Locust St. between Eagle Dr. and Hickory St. Construction activities for Phase 1 and 2 are expected to be complete by Q3 2021.

    Construction crews are completing inlet work on Phase 1 (Elm from Hickory to Eagle) and Phase 2 (Locust from Hickory to Eagle). Weather permitting, the inlet work is expected to be complete by the end of July 2021. Phase 3 and 4 (between Prairie and Bernard) are in the final stages of design and will progress to the advertise, bid, and award phase once complete.

    Phase 1 (Elm from Hickory to Eagle) and Phase 2 (Locust from Hickory to Eagle) remains on schedule to be complete in Q3 2021. Community members and motorists in the area are reminded to use caution when traveling in the area and adhere to all posted construction signage. Phase 3 and 4 (between Prairie and Bernard) are in the final stages of design and will progress to the advertise, bid, and award phase once complete.

  • Storm Drain Installation

    For Phases 1 and 2, crews are currently completing the installation of the storm drain on Elm Street and concrete repairs on Elm and Locust Street. Once completed, paving on Prairie Street between Locust Street and Pierce Street will begin. Design for phases 3 and 4 is nearing 90% completion. Once completed, funding will be finalized and a construction schedule will be provided.

  • Warren Court Street Paving Complete

    Street paving was recently completed on Warren Court and crews recently completed new water main pressure testing on Walnut Street. Inlets are being completed on Locust Street and Prairie Street. Paving is being scheduled on Prairie Street between Elm Street and Locust Street.

  • Temporary Street and Lane Closures

    Various temporary street and lane closures and parking restrictions continue on Prairie Street (Elm to Pierce), Warren Court (Wainwright to Locust), Locust Street (Warren to Highland and Mulberry to Walnut), Elm Street (Prairie to Maple), and Mulberry Street (Locust to Elm). These streets are expected to be fully reopened to traffic and parking on or before Saturday, February 29.
