Crashes in Denton streets are increasing, and so are the human and economic costs to our community.
The City of Denton is developing a Vision Zero Action Plan to address existing and future traffic safety deficiencies through education and proven measures in order to create a safer, more equitable mobility system for all. The plan will include a holistic strategy to reduce or eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries in Denton Texas.
Mission Statement
In March 2025, the Planning team, which consists of local municipal staff, civic leaders, law enforcement, interest groups, and other stakeholders collaborated to develop a mission statement for the City of Denton Vision Zero Action Plan:
Denton received federal grant funding to develop a plan as a part of the US Department of Transportation's bipartisan Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. The Vision Zero Action Plan will be structured to identify and prioritize safety needs both at the regional and local levels within equity focus areas.
