Summer Watering Restrictions

Watering at the right time can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your landscape. The best time to water is early in the morning from 4:00 a a.m. - 8:00 a.m., because the outside temperature is relatively cool, the wind is slower, and the sun is less intense, These factors allow water to soak into the soil to be absorbed by the roots before it can evaporate. Watering after 6:00 p.m. is okay but it's important to avoid watering your lawn late at night, as this can increase the risk of fungal growth.

Denton does have a summer watering ordinance, during June 1st - September 30th watering from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. is prohibited.
