Virtual Community Meeting Thursday, May 20

The City of Denton will hold a Virtual Community Meeting on Thursday, May 20, regarding street and utility improvements in your area as part of the Westgate Capital Improvement Project (CIP).

The Westgate CIP will include street reconstruction and upgrades to the drainage, sewer, and water systems in the area. The Westgate CIP is currently in the pre-design phase. In this phase of the project, City staff will present scope options that are being considered as part of the future design of the project, pending City council direction, funding and other items. This community meeting will be followed by a City Council Work Session presentation and a future community meeting to discuss final design options, construction plans, and schedules at a later date.

The City will host the virtual community meeting to provide residents and property owners the opportunity to:

Receive an overview of the Westgate CIP and other capital and developments occurring in the area surrounding the new Denton High School site;
Receive an update on project scope considerations and accessibility during construction; and
Field questions from community members.

Staff from the City of Denton, the Denton Independent School District, and the Texas Department of Transportation will be available to discuss the project and answer questions from those participating in the virtual meeting. The meeting will be hosted online using a remote format through the video-conferencing interface Zoom.
