The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department manages two senior centers; American Legion Hall Senior Center and the Denton Senior Center.


The City of Denton, adopted the Parks, Recreation, and Trails System Master Plan (PRTSMP) in Spring 2022. The PRTSMP identifies several improvements and significant investments needed for the Active Adult 50+ division. The Parks and Recreation Department is soliciting and gathering feedback on the communities needs, wants, and desires for a future center.

    On June 1, 2023, Parks and Recreation staff presented to the Special Citizens Bond Advisory Committee. The PowerPoint provided a general overview of the current facility. The committee engaged with staff with additional questions to learn more about the facility and how it provides services to the community, specifically to individuals 50 years old and older.
