Consultation has concluded

The Hickory Creek Road Phase 2 (West) project is from west of Teasley Lane to Riverpass Road/FM 2499. The project will improve mobility and safety in the area by expanding the existing roadway to include four main lanes, a median, storm drain system, a bridge, and turn lanes. If necessary, there will be room to construct two additional inside lanes (one in each direction) in the future.

In addition to the new roadway, the project includes 4,000 linear feet of storm drain (18-48 inches in diameter). A portion of the 10-foot sidewalk was constructed last summer and is excluded from the scope of this project. The drainage system that will be constructed is designed to provide capacity for the 100-year storm event. In addition, a new bridge will be constructed next to the existing bridge over Fletcher Branch to carry the Eastbound traffic.

  • Share We (the residents of Oaks of Montecito) are wondering why the entrance/exit from Montecito onto/from Hickory Creek has had turn arrows painted on the southbound lane dividing the entrance/exit into 3 lanes now? It's a very tight turn onto Montecito now if there happens to be a car sitting in the middle of the entrance waiting to make a left hand turn. It's an accident waiting to happen in our opinion and not necessary. Can you please rethink the turn arrows/lanes? Also, what is the new estimated completion date for the Hickory Creek project? Thank you for your inquiry on the Hickory Creek Rd PH 2 (West) Project. The current lane assignments on Montecito at the intersection of Hickory Creek are built per design. We will take a look at the turn lanes assignments to ensure that all traffic concerns are addressed. The intersection at Montecito and Hickory Creek Rd is slated to have a Traffic Signal installed at the location. With current material delays, we are experiencing long lead times on items needed to install the traffic signal. The signal installation will begin as soon as all the materials are delivered.  Hickory Creek Rd is currently open to traffic and the contractor is working on final punch list items to close out the project. If you have any further concerns or would like a more in-depth view into the project please contact me at Dustin.Draper@cityofdenton.com.

  • Share Last year it was proposed to add a curb on Hickory Creek Rd in front of Livingston Dr. We called and complained about this and it was confirmed they had enough complaints this would not happen. The video of the new road extension to country club also does not show the curb, yet today I came home to a curb in front of our street. Why were the residents not informed of the change? Why was your word not kept that the curb would not go there? on Facebook Share Last year it was proposed to add a curb on Hickory Creek Rd in front of Livingston Dr. We called and complained about this and it was confirmed they had enough complaints this would not happen. • Share I agree with the others that this project is long overdue for completion. 3 years is way to long to do this type of road construction and lately there is hardly any progress being made and very few, if any workers. They show up for day or so, move some dirt and then leave. I don't know who is the contractor for this job but they should be penalized for their slow progress. Can you address this or just continue on with projected completion dates as an answer. on Facebook Share I agree with the others that this project is long overdue for completion. 3 years is way to long to do this type of road construction and lately there is hardly any progress being made and very few, if any workers.
