Project Status 10/2022

City of Denton is excited to "go out to bid" for the Mayhill Phase 2 (DCTA) project this month. Staff evaluated the scope of the project and recommended using CSP (Competitive Sealed Proposal) instead of IFB (Invitation For Bid or “low bid”). CSP will allow staff to consider the contractor's staff, project workload, and history within our highly competitive market without price being the sole consideration. Over the next two months, advertising will close, bids will be opened, and staff will evaluate the contractor submittals and make a recommendation to the City Council to award the project for construction. Construction is expected to start in near March 2023 and will last approximately 18 months.
