Project Status Update 3/2023

Did we find a 4-leaf Clover? Pinch Me - March marks the GREATEST Start to the Long-awaited Kick Off for the Mayhill Road Phase 2 Construction. Flashback to January 24, 2023 - the City Council awarded McCarthy Building Companies (McCarthy) the Construction Contract and the Inspections Services Contract to Consor Engineers. Wasting no time, McCarthy and the City's amazing Procurement Team had all documentation submitted, processed, and executed, allowing an expedited Pre-Construction Conference on Thursday 2/16/23, giving Notice to Proceed with construction the following day Friday 2/17/23 which allowed the mobilization of equipment (the big stuff - excavators, track loaders, dump trucks), and by Monday 2/20/23 McCarthy was on the ground moving dirt. Before any dust could settle, the City held the Construction Kick-Off Community Involvement Meeting on 3/9/23. A BIG "Thank You" to all those who took time to attend the meeting and to those who asked questions! The video of the virtual meeting will be posted on this site once processed. WHAT's Next in March - More and More and More dirt hauling because this project will take over 82,000 Cubic Yards of dirt. If you can't imagine that - just imagine about 140,000 washing machines stacked up, or 250,000 shopping carts piled up, or how about 3.3 MILLION 5-gallon buckets...ok, even I can't imagine any of that). We'll also see the McCarthy field office get moved in by the end of the March. Yes Denton - we can see the Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow and we're calling it Mayhill Road Phase 2!
