Tuesday, Feb. 15 Update: The City of Denton Non-Discrimination Ordinance community input period has closed. Community feedback is being reviewed by the project team and will be provided to the Denton City Council to inform future decision making. Visit this page and review the project timeline to stay informed on next steps and for a summary report of the community input received.

The Denton City Council is requesting community input for a comprehensive Non-Discrimination Ordinance in the City. A Non-Discrimination Ordinance (NDO) would prohibit discrimination in the City of Denton based on a set of protected classes. Some local governments have passed NDOs to add protections for those classes not expressly covered under federal or state law, which may include sexual orientation or gender identity, in addition to other classes.

The City invites you to help inform and shape the City's NDO! Using the tools and resources on this page, please participate by: answering a few questions in the survey below, read the draft NDO, review a past City Council presentation and Frequently Asked Questions, submit your questions or comments, and follow the progress of the ordinance.
