Pecan Creek 4 - Phase 3 and 4

Overview:
Pecan Creek-4 Phases 3 and 4 Drainage Improvements project which includes:
- 2,700 linear feet of reinforced concrete box
- 2,300 linear feet of waterline relocation and lowering
- 1,700 linear feet of sanitary sewer line relocation and adjustment
- pavement repair from West Prairie Street to the beginning of the open channel near the intersection of West Mulberry Street and Bernard Street;

The application of eminent domain enables the city to obtain private property for public use in return for offering reasonable compensation for the property.
With this approval, City Staff/ Engineering Staff also went through the 95% design plans of the project with detailed specifications and engineering designs. We have already begun preparing to respond to comments and feedback from the review process to prepare necessary adjustments before finalizing the plans. The design team is working diligently on these changes to present the plans for formal approval and construction.

Concurrently our Right of Way (ROW) team is diligently preparing for the acquisition of the necessary easements. This phase is critical, as securing these easements will facilitate the smooth progression of our project and ensure that we have legal access to the land required for construction and operations.

Project Overview
The PEC 4 Drainage Improvement project is a multi-phase project listed in the City’s Capital Improvement Program with the purpose of flood prevention within a portion of the Pecan Creek Tributary #4. The limits of the project extend along Pecan Creek Tributary 4 from the improved channel at Wainwright Street and Bell Avenue, northwest to Mulberry Street, just east of Bernard (Exhibit 2- Location Map). The general improvements for this project are the installation of an underground storm sewer capable of containing a 100 year flood event.
