Trinity Road Bridge

The Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA) with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is to allow the replacement of the off-system, one-lane bridge to a two-lane bridge located at Trinity Road and Cooper Creek. This project requires the relocation of the City of Denton owned wastewater line that is in conflict with the bridges proposed alignment. The design of the wastewater line relocation is underway with the City of Denton's Internal team. TXDOT plans on letting this project for bidding in March of 2025. The City of Denton plans to have the wastewater line relocated prior to that so that TXDOT can move to construction in quarter 2 of 2025.

This bridge qualified for the Bridge Inventory, Inspection, and Appraisal Program due to a low-ranking score of >50 due to it possessing obsolete functionality. One lane bridges no longer provide the capacity for todays standard traffic flows. This improvement will increase safety and functionality at this location by converting this corridor to include a dual lane, bi-directional bridge which helps to ensure adequate capacity and traffic flow.
