Hickory Creek Road Phase 3 Project
The Hickory Creek Road Phase 3 project is located on Hickory Creek Road from Riverpass Drive to FM-1830. To improve safety and mobility in the area, the project includes the design and construction of a four-lane extension and realignment of Hickory Creek Road from Riverpass Drive to FM-1830, and the construction of a bridge that will span Hickory Creek and remove the safety concern of the 90 degree curve from the current Hickory Creek alignment. This project is part of a larger reconstruction and widening project for Hickory Creek Road with the goal of a continuous four lane divided roadContinue reading

Dpurcell asked 4 months agoThank you for your inquiry into the Hickory Creek Road Phase 3 Project. The project coordination between Oncor, the railroad, and the City of Denton began in 2019 during the early design phase of the project. The Oncor relocation is currently underway and the coordination with the railroad is ongoing as we reach final agreement. As the Oncor and railroad efforts are being resolved we are working with the contractor for the construction to continue. The current estimated completion for the project is projected for Q4 2026, but we anticipate the bridge to be open in late 2025. If you would like a more in depth view into the project please feel free to reach out to me at Dustin.Draper@cityofdenton.com.

ashoe asked 8 months agoThank you for your inquiry. The City of Denton currently doesn't have any design or immediate plans for the Brush Creek Rd area between 377 and FM 1830. Brush Creek is shown on the Mobility plan that can be located at the following link, https://gis.cityofdenton.com:9002/mapviewer/ that can be found on the City of Denton's website. For the immediate future we do not have any projects planned for Brush Creek in our five year capital project planning. Share You need to fill in the potholes on the temporary Hilltop Rd where it connects with 1830 and up to the paved section of road. There was NO reason to tear up the old paved Hilltop Road at the beginning of your project, unless you wanted to cause damage to local citizen’s cars with your poorly maintained temporary gravel road. The tear out of Hilltop early on is a just a gross blunder by Denton Co/you by perhaps allowing Sinacola to dictate timing so they could paid for that section instead of considering what the tax payers would want. Also, the signage at the Hilltop/1830 intersection when approaching from Denton is also terrible. There also needs to be a marker/sign on the north east corner of the Hilltop Rd/1830 intersection so when people arrive at night and are turning onto Hilltop they can see where to turn. In an effort to keep kids safe from going into Hickory Creek you are causing all kinds of other safety concerns especially once you have Hilltop residents needing to turn left onto Brush Creek to get out to 1830 without any plans (to my knowledge) for a stop sign for Brush Creek traffic , a roundabout, or a center merge lane that would allow for a protected left turn. Please let me know what the plans are for that intersection and how/when my other concerns will be addressed. Share Hi, with this project extending to 1830, the traffic has increased significantly on Country Club Rd. This poses traffic problems within the residential areas between Sanders Rd and Hobson Ln. Are there any plans to reduce the speed limit in this area and also install one or more stop signs? Cars and trucks are constantly speeding/racing down this road which is concerning. I believe reducing the speed limit and installing stop signs will help alleviate some of the issues.
