When does Denton begin and end measuring household water usage to set rates
Jacque asked 8 months agoHI Jacque - Thank you so much for reaching out with your question. I believe you are referring to the wastewater rates, which are set by taking your average potable water volume during the months of December, January and February. We take 95% of this average to determine your wastewater volume. If you have any questions or if I was mistaken and this is a water rate question, please feel free to reach out to me at haley.salazar@cityofdenton.com. Thank you!

Share What kind of recourse does the city have with the vendor who provided these faulty filters? Is there a financial penalty to the vendor? What kind of due diligence was done by the City before selecting this vendor? Andy asked 8 months agoThe filters are under warranty and the vendor has to absorb that cost. We have a rigorous procurement process, additionally these purchasing decisions are approved through the Public Utility Board and City council.
There was not an issue during the winter, there was no reason to replace the filters at that time. It can be helpful to likening this situation with having something breakdown early on your car, despite regular oil changes and passing inspections.

Cynby asked 8 months agoParks has stopped watering with the exception of ball fields for the safety of our young athletes. Parks has decreased watering so much it has allowed us to stay in Stage 2, instead of moving into stage 3, which would completely eliminate all outdoor watering.

Water department asked 8 months agoYes it does apply to apartments. Are you able to share the address with us so we can reach out to the complex? They may somehow be unaware of the situation.

Karen Jo asked 8 months agoHello - For those who choose to irrigate, you are allowed to irrigate on your assigned day, but you certainly are not obligated to irrigate. During this time, please irrigate only on your day.
Were you aware of our watering schedule? This schedule is in place year round, and allows homes ending in odd addresses are only allowed to water wednesdays and sundays. For Stage 2 drought we remove the weekend days and keep the same weekday for simplicity.
Thank you!

Mark777 asked 8 months agoProperly maintained drip irrigation systems may be used any day of the week, after 6pm and before 10 am, provided the systems are not creating runoff. We do request that drip irrigation users conserve and water only when absolutely necessary during this time.
Thank you!
