The 2020 Street Reconstruction Bundle: Southwest Sector Project is a part of a multi-phase street reconstruction project to rebuild existing streets that have reached the end of their useful life. The Southwest Sector phase includes the street reconstruction of N. Texas Boulevard, Chestnut Street from Welch Street to Bernard Street; and Welch Street from Collins Street to Fannin Street (view map below). The street reconstruction will include new curb and gutter, asphalt roadways as well as upgraded water and wastewater facilities.

    The City of Denton will hold a virtual Community Meeting regarding upcoming street reconstruction as part of the 2020 Street Reconstruction Bundle Sector 2 Capital Improvement Project (CIP). The 2020 Street Reconstruction Bundle Sector 2 CIP includes the reconstruction of N. Texas Boulevard, Chestnut Street from Welch Street to Bernard Street; and Welch Street from Collins Street to Fannin Street (a map will be provided at the community meeting). This reconstruction project includes new curb and gutter, asphalt roadways as well as upgraded water and wastewater facilities.

    The City will host the virtual community meeting to provide residents and property owners the opportunity to:

    • Receive an update on the 2020 Street Reconstruction Bundle Sector 2 CIP;
    • Receive an update on the construction timeline, expected traffic impacts for the 2020 Street Reconstruction Bundle Sector 2 CIP; and
    • Address additional concerns from community members.

    Staff from the City of Denton Capital Projects/Engineering Department will be available to discuss the project and answer questions from those participating in the virtual meeting.
