On Wednesday, September 10th, the contractor will close Bonnie Brae between Willowwood and Parvin to complete the drainage infrastructure in this area. Local traffic to National Wholesale and homes will be accessible. Through traffic will need to follow the posted detour signs. This closure is anticipated to last until December (weather permitting). Vehicular Traffic will have access to the new Reeves Elementary School by using Riney Road. Riney Road can be accessed by way of the street intersections at Discovery Blvd. & US77 and the Riney Road & US77.

Contruction activities will continue in the area as Tiseo Paving Company continues to work on the 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the southside of Riney Road and at the street intersection of Bonnie Brae & Riney. The Contractor anticipates completing the eastern sides of the intersections by August 20,2025. Please drive cautiously and obey any temporary traffic control devices and signage that have been placed out on the project site.

On Wednesday July 23rd, TxDOT advised they would be closing South Bonnie Brae from Airport Road to I35E for their contractor (SEMA) to complete the state’s portion of Bonnie Brae and the Service Road. This would mean trucks coming off Airport Road would have no choice but to turn right and head south on Bonnie Brae to either Willowwood or Roselawn (Parvin is currently closed).

In an attempt to prevent heavy truck traffic through residential neighborhoods and confusion on the closure, staff determined it best to close Airport Road and detour traffic to Western Blvd., as it is a familiar route.

Starting Wednesday July 30, 2025, Airport Road will be closed between the I35E Frontage Road and Airport/I35W Frontage Road. Anticipated duration of closure will be nineteen (19) days, weather permitting. Upon construction completion Airport Road/FM1515 and Bonnie Brae at 35E will re-open to traffic. (August 18, 2025)

Detour signs will be posted providing alternate routes and directing traffic around closure. All message boards will be updated to reflect closure dates.

Parvin Road between Larkhall Lane and Bonnie Brae will be closed on Monday July, 21st to install the drainage infrastructure crossing under Parvin and complete paving improvements of Parvin as it relates to Bonnie Brae Phase 3.

Weather permitting, Parvin will re-open to traffic by the end of day, Friday September, 5th.

There will be no access to Parvin from Bonnie Brae during this closure. Access to Bonnie Brae will be from either Willowwood, Roselawn or Airport Rd.

Contractor continues to work on concrete pavement detour at the intersection of Bonnie Brae and Riney Road. After traffic is moved over to the detour the Contractor will start working on constructing the new street intersection.

The Contractor continues to install the 16-inch ductile iron pipe along Bonnie Brae from Riney Road to Windsor Drive.

Tiseo Paving Company is installing a 12-inch waterline where the Contractor building Reeves Elementary School will tie-in for their water supply.

Phase 3 is progressing with installation of the new water and sanitary sewer systems as well as new underground drainage infrastructure at both the north and south ends of the project. On January 27th, Bonnie Brae at Airport Road was fully closed to all traffic. The contractor is working to complete all the underground improvements as well as paving of the section of Bonnie Brae between Airport Road and Main Stadium Drive to ensure this section of roadway can be open and accept traffic from TxDOT's 35E-Merge project which is now also under construction. Weather permitting, paving activities in this section will be complete and re-open to traffic in mid June 2025.

Paving has begun on the south end of the project near Roselawn. Sections of both the north and south bound lanes have been installed between Erskine and Roselawn.

Ongoing spot road closures through-out south Bonnie Brae will continue as underground storm drain facilities are installed and utility services are crossed under Bonnie Brae and tied-in to the new infrastructure. Message boards will be updated in advance of these planned closures. Follow posted detour signs.

The overall project is expected to be complete in November of 2026. Look for progress pictures and videos under the coordinating tab on the right.

On March 10, 2025, the City of Denton issued a full Notice to Proceed to Tiseo Paving Company to be able to fully mobilize into the project limits. Tiseo will begin by concentrating on Riney Road from Bonnie Brae to Hardaway Road.

City Staff issued a Partial Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Tiseo Paving Company on February 10, 2025. The Partial NTP allows the Contractor to order material needed for the project which may have large lead time to get from factory to project site. The Partial NTP also allows for the Contractor to complete some work tasks agreed to between the City and the Contractor.
