The 2019 Bond Neighborhood 1B project is a part of a multi-phase street reconstruction project to rebuild existing streets that have reached the end of their useful life. Maps are provided to left (or bottom) for all streets that will be part of the Neighborhood 1B project as well as the breakdown of the phases. Street reconstruction will include new curb and gutter, asphalt/concrete roadways and upgrading select water and/or wastewater facilities. There will be some areas of sidewalk and street lighting replacement and areas of new lighting & sidewalk.

    1. Apollo Drive: Selene Dr. to Redstone Rd. (Notices to be made to residents a minimum 48 Hrs. in advance of road closure to thru traffic)

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation

    2. Cactus Circle: Yucca Dr. to Cul-de-sac

    • Utility work to include lowering existing water services found to be too shallow. (Some residents may experience brief service interruptions)
    • Earthwork to include rough grading, lime stabilization, and fine grading
    • Paving to include asphalt placement followed by the installation of curb and gutter, driveways and miscellaneous concrete

    3. Huisache Street: Aspen Dr. to Yucca Dr.

    • Installation of curb and gutter, driveways and miscellaneous concrete

    4. Juno Lane: Atlas Dr. to Stuart Rd.

    • Earthwork to include lime stabilization, fine grading
    • Paving to include the installation of curb and gutter, driveways and miscellaneous concrete

    5. Northridge Street: Hinkle Dr. to Bolivar St.

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation

    6. Pershing Drive: Atlas Dr. to Stuart Rd. (Notices to be made to residents a minimum 48 Hrs. in advance of road closure to thru traffic)

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation and waterline installation

    7. Selene Drive: Stuart Rd. to End

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation
    • Miscellaneous demolition to include the removal of asphalt, curb and gutter, and driveways
    • Earthwork to include rough grading, and lime stabilization

    8. Sheraton Road: Imperial Dr. to Sun Valley Dr. (Notifications to be made to residents a minimum 48 Hrs. in advance of road closure to thru traffic)

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation
    • Miscellaneous demolition to include the removal of asphalt, curb and gutter, and driveways
    • Earthwork to include rough grading

    9. Sunnydale Lane: Kings Row to Sun Valley Dr.

    • Utility work consisting of sewer installation
    • Miscellaneous demolition to include the removal of asphalt, curb and gutter, driveways and sidewalks
    • Earthwork to include rough grading, lime stabilization, and fine grading

    10. Yellowstone Place: Hercules Lane to Juno Ln.

    • Earthwork to include lime stabilization, fine grading
    • Paving to include the installation of curb and gutter, driveways and miscellaneous concrete

    11. Redstone Road: Hercules Ln. End

    • Atmos gas conflicts have this segment in a delay. City is awaiting Atmos's completion of relocating their existing utilities before the contractor can proceed with the proposed improvements.

    Utility improvements continue along various streets as well as road reconstruction on several street segments. The contractor took pro-active action by applying asphalt millings to streets where asphalt paving has been removed in advance of the 4th of July weekend. These efforts should prove helpful in the event we encounter any rain over the weekend.

    The contractor continues to make progress with utility installation along various segments of the project. Other improvements include subgrade preparation and some asphalt paving. The contractor will continue to provide door hanger notification to affected residents advising of pending road closures as they prepare to work on their street.

    With this project officially underway, the contractor has begun the removal of existing asphalt paving and curb and gutter along several segments. Additionally, the contractor has started utility installation.

    City staff conducted a virtual community meeting on Aril 3rd. The purpose of this meeting was to present the timeline, potential impacts, and ways to stay informed during the construction phase of this project. Residents were encouraged to ask questions which were answered during this meeting. It was explained that residents could expect to see the beginnings of construction activities on some of their streets as the contractor begins to move in the second week of April to begin staging, saw-cutting, and setting up traffic control measures.
